About Us is a page to give an overview about the business, to give an idea about the story of the business. A page to say “this is who we are”.
While you don’t “need” an about us page, it is a good idea to have one.
Generally, it should not be about the person or people, although that is a part to include. The About Us page should give customers a sense of trust in your brand. In addition to who you are, it can state why you started your brand, the vision and mission of the business, milestones the business has met, the future of the company.
Depending on the business, you may focus more on the person or people. For example, a new business may not yet have an identity by itself and there is more to tell about the person to establish trust.
